I am a political scientist specializing in public opinion and political behavior, with a primary focus on comparative politics and Korean politics. My research and teaching interests include political socialization, civic education, democratic attitudes, and national identity, as well as public policy, local politics and governance, and the role of society in shaping democratic outcomes. My regional focus is on Korea and Asia. My work has been published in journals such as Political Psychology (2025), Politics, Groups, and Identities (2025), and Democratization (2024).
Currently, I am an assistant professor at Jeonbuk National University’s Department of Political Science and International Relations. I earned my doctoral degree in political science from the Department of Political Science and International Relations at Seoul National University. Prior to my current role, I served as an assistant professor at Chinju National University of Education and a visiting scholar at the Asian Studies Center, University of Pittsburgh.
